What Your Post-Meal Glucose Levels Can Tell You | Dr. Rob Lustig, MD
For a recent episode of A Whole New Level, Levels Advisor Dr. Robert Lustig talks about how you can tell whether you are healthy. One metric to follow is your glucose levels in response to a meal.
– We have glucose rises when we eat. That’s normal.
– The key is to mitigate the height of the spike and the duration of the spike.
A continuous glucose monitor (CGM) tracks your glucose in real time so you can see how high and how long your glucose stays elevated after eating a specific food. The shape of these curves can serve as a proxy for how well your insulin is working, which is an indicator of your metabolic health status.
