The results were largely normal, with Barbabella noting \u201cslight lower leg swelling,\u201d and bruising on the hand \u201cconsistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-4560e8\" class=\"body-graf\">The memo came out three days <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/donald-trump\/white-house-yet-release-health-results-trumps-doctor-latest-checkup-rcna347363\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">after his Tuesday exam<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-b17994\" class=\"body-graf\">Barbabella reported Trump\u2019s weight as 238 pounds with a resting heart rate of 73 beats per minute. Trump also took a neurological exam that included screening for cognitive function, which was within normal limits with a score of 30 out of 30, Barbabella claims.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-d0f796\" class=\"body-graf\">Trump is taking medication for cholesterol control and cardiac prevention, Barbabella said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-56d058\" class=\"body-graf\">\u201cThe President remains up to date on all appropriate preventive screenings and immunizations,\u201d Barbabella said. \u201cRoutine cancer screenings, cardiovascular risk assessment, and metabolic evaluations are current and within recommended intervals. Preventive counseling was provided, including guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss.\u201d <\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-8b1487\" class=\"body-graf\">Trump went to Walter Reed twice last year \u2014 in April and October \u2014 and had two dental appointments in Florida this year: one in January and one in May.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-ad978c\" class=\"body-graf\">Trump, who will turn 80 in June, is the oldest person to assume the presidency. He regularly insists he is in excellent health, most recently Tuesday following his visit to Walter Reed in Bethesda, Maryland.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-45e842\" class=\"body-graf\">\u201cJust finished my 6 month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. The White House has blamed the bruising on Trump\u2019s frequent handshaking and said he takes aspirin as a blood thinner \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/donald-trump\/trump-says-takes-aspirin-recommended-doctors-rcna251804\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more than is recommended<\/a> by his doctors.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-ccc60a\" class=\"body-graf\">Last year, the White House revealed that Trump had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/health\/health-news\/trump-chronic-venous-insufficiency-diagnosis-condition-rcna219437\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chronic venous insufficiency<\/a>, a non-life-threatening condition that causes poor circulation and led to swelling in his legs.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-f1c46e\" class=\"body-graf\">In October, following his visit to Walter Reed, which the White House had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/donald-trump\/trump-get-routine-yearly-medical-check-second-6-months-rcna236538\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">described as a \u201croutine yearly check up\u201d<\/a> even though it was his second visit in six months, Trump revealed to reporters that he had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/donald-trump\/trump-health-mri-walter-reed-physical-exam-bruise-swelling-rcna240076\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">undergone an MRI<\/a>.
