The restriction is in effect for the next 30 days.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-99c823\" class=\"body-graf\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/public-inspection.federalregister.gov\/2026-10179.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">notice submitted to the Federal Register <\/a>set to be published Thursday, CPB and the Department of Homeland Security announced new arrival restrictions directing all flights to the U.S. with passengers who have recently traveled to Congo, Uganda or South Sudan to land at Washington-Dulles International Airport in Virginia.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-8ead0a\" class=\"body-graf\">The restrictions begin Thursday and apply to any person who \u201chas departed from, or was otherwise present within,\u201d the three countries \u201cwithin 21 days of the date of the person\u2019s entry or attempted entry\u201d into the U.S., according to the document.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-47670e\" class=\"body-graf\">Dulles was described as the airport \u201cwhere the U.S. government is focusing public health resources to implement enhanced public health measures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-c3a918\" class=\"body-graf\">DHS did not immediately respond to request for comment about the document. In its statement, Air France acknowledged the new restrictions. <\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-bbf654\" class=\"body-graf\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/world\/africa\/ebola-cases-rise-congo-american-doctors-europe-treatment-vaccine-who-rcna346049\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suspected death toll<\/a> from the Ebola outbreak totals more than 139, with more than 600 suspected cases, most of them in Congo, according to the World Health Organization.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-f87c9d\" class=\"endmark body-graf\">A vaccine for the Bundibugyo strain of the virus \u2014 which is driving the outbreak \u2014 is most likely <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/health\/health-news\/ebola-vaccine-bundibugyo-strain-take-months-human-trials-rcna345926\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">months away<\/a> from human trials, and there is no guarantee it would work, the WHO said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/detroit-bound-flight-diverted-canada-passenger-congo-error-ebola-rcna346245\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Air France flight bound for Detroit was redirected to Canada after a passenger from Congo boarded \u201cin error\u201d amid the Ebola outbreak in central Africa, officials said Wednesday.
