He is in stable condition. <\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-ff7bfb\" class=\"body-graf\">\u201cAhmad is deeply loved by his teammates, coaches, friends, family and fans,\u201d the statement said. \u201cWe will continue to stand beside him and his family through this difficult time, offering our love, prayers, strength and support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-7982ec\" class=\"body-graf\">The statement added: \u201cA timeline for his return to football activities is unknown at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-56f2da\" class=\"body-graf\">Hardy, 20, is one of the premier running backs in college football. He ran for 1,649 yards last season, second most in FBS. He also ran for 16 touchdowns in his first season with the Tigers. <\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-badcc6\" class=\"body-graf\">Hardy grew up in Mississippi, attending Lawrence County High School in Monticello. He was a three-star recruit in the class of 2024, initially attending the University of Louisiana at Monroe before transferring to Missouri before the 2025 football season.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-9b72ab\" class=\"body-graf\">Hardy has said his motivation for playing football is to support his family.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-a32c73\" class=\"endmark body-graf\">\u201cI grew up with mostly my mom raising four children: three boys and one girl,\u201d Hardy told The Hawkeye, the student newspaper at UL Monroe, in October 2024. \u201cWatching her struggle to get us to practice, put food on the table and work hard broke her back.
